I work hard & I play hard. My perfect day is spent at the edge of a lake, in the northern boreal forest or walking the coulees of the south Saskatchewan grasslands.
I introduced my wife to fishing & now she is an addict. She's not a hunter though, she thinks most animals are too cute to shoot...That's where we differ.
I am a trophy hunter but also use the meat. I practise a theory about trophy deer that goes like this: On the last day of season, if one does not find a trophy deer, shoot one for meat; a doe or one with poor genetics rather than the one that might grow up into a trophy deer next year. If everyone were to do the same, there would be more trophy deer for the taking & over time less poor genetics.
I have 4 animals that I haven't hunted but would really like to go for: Caribou, Wild Turkey, Wild Boar & Aligator... That's on my bucket list.
