new rubber boots smell

merry christmas everyone. i have a pair of new rubber hunting boots i got at bass pro shops,the problem is they smell really bad with either rubber or water proofing scent.how would you get the smell to go away,any suggestions would be great,thanks.       rmitch1234

Take them outside and air them out for atleast a week.  You can also spray them down with Dead Down Wind.  Another thing is, where I hunt there is a lot of cedar.  You can put some twigs, etc from a cedar tree down in them too.  For the outside though it's just keeping them outside, wearing them, and spraying them down.  It'll work... but get them outside... and keep them dry.

Just leave them out...they smell strong because they were boxed up right after they were made. they just need a little time to dissipate..it don't take long at all. good luck in the woods

Yes, wear them a few weeks without washing them! LOL!
