Hunting in Africa
Posted On 10/14/2008 08:04:52 by victorhunt
During August of this year I outfitted a hunting safaris for a French client in Namibia. He was accompanied by his wife and 9 year old son. I am including a few pictures. He took 15 animals on a 14 day safari. I was lucky to hunt Hartmann's Mountain Zebra in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in all of my years as a professional hunter. It was on privately owned land, bordering the Namib Naukluft Park and the White Waterberg. Huge sandstone mountains are scattered over imense grass plains, dotted by Camelthorn trees. Valleys and huge ravines are frequinted by leopard and klipspringer antelope. Truly one of the most amazing places I have ever seen!

Hmm i dont get it, do you manage your own hunting safari company or are you doing freelancing as a Outfitter?

I manage my own company, Victor Hunting Safaris Africa. I also do some freelance work as a professional hunter for other outfitters just to fill my gaps in the season. You can not freelance as an outfitter!

Thank you! Yes, I had quite a good season though but a lot of the other outfitters had a lot of cancellations, especially the ones that hunt mostly with American clients. We are also suffering a bit in South Africa with the economy that is down but at leats we have sunshine and live in a beautiful country. Unfortunatelly our industry are influenced a lot by the world economy and world stability. Well, that is one of those things but we will get by, we always do!
