Been a great summer.........

Last weekend I shot a boar over 250 lbs and he hit the cutover. We spent 45 minutes with machetes chopping and could get about 20 feet into the thicket. The boar died at 50 yards.

This was our last weekend this summer to hunt............

We got to MS last night and hit the stands about 30 minutes before dark.

My feeder still had corn.

Dannys did not, but he threw out 2 gallons of soured corn in hopes of drawing in a pig or seeing another coati mundy.

I shot a big boar last weekend and it hit the cutover. After dark the wind changed and I could smell it's foul funk.

I heard a boar grunt way off, then about 15 minutes later I could hear tusks snapping together. Not like when they were mad, but about a minute apart. This went on for an hour. I realized he was eating on the dead pig I shot last weekend. He never came to the feeder but went on down the creek.

I heard pigs all night in a cutover way off and they never moved. No moon, so they were staying put or they were in a mudhole out there in the thicket and hanging there.

Danny was ready to go pull feeders at 10 PM but I wanted to hunt till 12:30. At midnight he had 6 come in and dropped a boar about 150 lbs.

We got him, took some pics, then pulled 3 feeders and headed to our camp.

We got up today and pulled our last two feeders that belonged to us and 2 lock ons wrapping up the season for us.

Total in 16 weeks? 31 wild russina hogs....................

All the members and Pres were doing a work day and were esthatic at our success and want us back Februaty 1st setting up next year .

We did not start till May this year, If we start in February next year......... we should get 50-70- off the place.

We just picked up two more peices of property for next year also.

We went full night vision with monacles and NV scopes on our rifles..... does that eve make a difference!

Afte 4-5 hunts, pigs started running as soon as any light hit them. With NV and IR illuminators..... we won the night and they never know we are there till we fire.

Starting to modify my hog rifle.

Remington 760 pump.

1) Installing a collapsible AR type stock.
2) Replacng wood forearm with synthetic
3) Adding Picatinny rail to fore arm and installing an AR type front grip
4) Adding red dot laser
5) Building a flash suppressor to eliminate the blinding we get when muzzle flash is picked up by night vision scope. ( no I am not making a silencer)
6) May have barrel shortened 6 inches and re-crowned.

742 are some pretty nice guns, i would imagine you'll be laying them hogs out with it.
