What I Believe I Believe in God and His Holy Bible
Posted On 06/18/2011 10:41:08

Based on Scripture I believe

The Bible

Is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

God
Is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16).

Sin
Separates man from God. Everyone has sinned and needs salvation (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23).

Salvation
Comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The Gospel
iIs the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38) water baptism in the name of ( the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.) and that name is  Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).

Christian Living
Is about loving God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).

The Rapture
Is Jesus Christ coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11 15).

Breaking News!!

White House Gardner Fired

It has just been reported that the head gardener at the White House has been dismissed after 28 years of loyal service to the many US presidents.

When interviewed the gardener protested his innocence and said "All I know is I was walking past the
Oval Office and I asked," Has anyone seen the spade and the hoe?

The next thing I knew, I was fired.

Do YOU Believe Dogs Have Souls? I DO!

Do YOU Believe Dogs Have Souls? I DO!

I remember bringing you home. You were so small and cuddly with your tiny paws and soft fur.

You bounced around the room with eyes flashing and ears flopping. Once in awhile, you’d let out a little yelp, just to let me know this was your territory.

Making a mess of the house and chewing on everything in sight because became a passion, and when I scolded you, you just put your head down and looked up at me with those innocent eyes, as if to say, .“I’m sorry, but I’ll do it again as soon as soon as you’re not watching.”

As you got older, you protected me by looking out the window and barking at everyone who walked by.

When I had a tough day at work, you would be waiting for me with your tail wagging just to say, “Welcome home. I missed you.” You never had a bad day, and I could always count on you to be there for me.

When I sat down to read the paper and watch TV, you would hop on my lap, looking for attention. You never asked for anything more than to have me pet your head over my leg.

As you got older, you moved around more slowly. Then one day, old age finally took its toll, and you couldn’t stand on those wobbly legs anymore. I knelt down and patted you lying there, trying to make you young again. You just looked at me as if to say you were old and tired and that after all these years of not asking for anything, you had to ask me for one last favor.

With tears in my eyes, I drove you one last time to the vet. One last time, you were lying next to me.

For some strange reason, you were able to stand up in the animal hospital; perhaps it was your sense of pride.

As the vet led you away, you stopped for an instant, turned your head, and looked at me as if to say, “Thank you for taking care me.”

I thought “No, thank you for taking care of me.”

p.s.: This reminds me of my beloved Border Collie, Toby, who I lost in 2000, and yes, I do believe dogs do have souls.

~ 10 Commandments for Dogs ~
Posted On 12/02/2010 21:59:58

From a Dog's Point of View 1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Regular separation from you will be painful and can even cause depression.Think before you buy me. 2. Give me time to understand what you want from me don't be impatient, short-tempered or irritable. 3. Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back, respect is earned not given as some sort of inalienable right. 4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. I am not capable of understanding why I am being locked up. I only know I have been rejected. You have your work, entertainment and friends. I only have you. 5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your tone. "You only have to look at my tail" to know that. 6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget, if that treatment is unjust or bad, it may spoil the special bond between us. 7. Please do not hit me. I cannot hit back, but I can bite and scratch and I don't ever want to feel the need to do that. 8. Before you tell me off me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be wrong with me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food or I've been out in the sun too long, maybe my heart is getting old and weak, or maybe I'm just dog-tired. 9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old and will also want care, love, and affection. 10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence". Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, Irrespective of what you do I will always love you. (There is nothing as pure and strong as the love of a dog for his Master.)

God is always there with us

Cherokee Legend Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, our Heavenly Father is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him

I don't always say, "Amen,"
Posted On 12/02/2010 21:57:02

When I think I've finished praying, I don't always say, "Amen," For I keep a running dialogue, Going on all day with Him. Off and on throughout the day, I speak aloud to God, A fact that is so commonplace, I do not think it's odd. God can do what I can't do, (Or, I can't do alone,) I ask His help a thousand times, For many tasks at home. Be it opening a jar, Or undoing knotted cords, I always say, "Please help me, God," Then say, "I Thank you, Lord." It's "please" and "thank you" all day long, It's natural - like breathing, It isn't planned; it just comes out, It's comfortable and pleasing. I suppose my prayers are selfish, (I need to work on that,) But sometimes I merely talk to Him, And ask for nothing back. I think God knows what's going on, He can recognize true need, I may just want a Holy Ear, And not a Holy Deed.

Forgive and Forget

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT . DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND, TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE . THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH . THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING, HE WROTE ON A STONE: 'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE' THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW, YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?' THE FRIEND REPLIED 'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY. BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US, WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT' LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE. THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON, AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY TO LOVE THEM, BUT THEN, AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM. 'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.'
