FIRST BUCK!!

once in a great while you have an experience that brings tears of joy to your eyes, like the birth of a child.but it gets better when that child grows into a youn adult and use's the skills passed down from generations before to there young mind.know that the outdoor traditions we all love and fight for are alive and well with the younger generation because of all of us.my daughter killed her first buck this year..the first year she could hunt a nice forked horn!we had scouted and had seen alot bigger bucks so i gave her the choice to shoot one of the 4 we jumped up together or look for a bigger one.big decision when you are on your first big game hunt!i think she made a good choice in taking the one she choose out of the group.we watched them for a half hour or better as they fed right back to us after we busted them out...first time i have seen that as well.she watched through the scope of her 22-250 the whole time and kept sayin can i shoot dad can i shoot i made her take the gun down and look at them at around 600 yds and she knew they were alot farther than she thought.i was confident she would make a good shot at 250 yds but wanted them much closer if they would come and they just kept feeding our way so we waited.i cant imagine all the thoughts goin through her head but she stayed relatively calm and when they got around 200 yds i think they caught our scent and started gettin nervous so i gave her the go head to shoot and she made a perfect shot right behind the shoulder,as the other 3 bucks took moff in unison one stood alone head down kinda stumbling and then fell dead .i began to cry tears of joy out of no-where as my daughter put the gun to the ground rather violently and took off at a dead run leaving me there in the trees to take it all in.thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have passed on their knowledge to us the next generation.
